ZB-26 Gashek Original Series

Václav Holek's ZB-26 entered Czechoslovak service in 1926, was exported to 24 countries and was also built in Australia, Britain, Canada, India, Spain and China. It earned a name for simplicity and reliability in the conflicts of the 1930s to 1950s.

First impressions

GASHEK is built on an exceptional airsoft model and looks just like the original, with wooden inserts in black and silver. You might expect the top magazine to block the sights, but the front sight and the drum-adjusted rear sight are offset to the left, so you can aim comfortably lying down without lifting your head. Original parts like the folding butt plate and lifting grip still move, even though they no longer have a job.

Frame and electronics

• Aluminium-alloy frame, barrel and bipod; steel magazine; wooden grip, stock and carry handle.
• Tight assembly with no rattles or play.
• A 2.2 Ah Li-ion battery for 30 hours of continuous play.
• Reload with the bolt, switch on with the protection switch; the speaker is in the magazine.

Grip, bipod and magazine

• A large grip, sized for the gun's weight, that stays comfortable.
• A folding bipod with good feet that deploys in seconds.
• The magazine is removable: take it off and fit the cover cap if you prefer.
• Effective range: 250 m.
