What changes the price?

What else should you budget for?

We do not quote figures for these, because they vary too much by country and city:

  • rent or a land agreement, and fit-out of the site or arena (walls, lighting, obstacles);
  • insurance, permits and any local registration;
  • staff: at least one trained instructor for every game;
  • marketing for the first months;
  • shipping and import duties, which depend on your country: our sales team confirms the shipping cost before you pay.

How do you work out the return?

A simple model you can fill in with your own local numbers:

LineHow to estimate it
Monthly revenuegames per month × players per game × price per player, plus extras (parties, food and drinks, photos, tournaments)
Monthly running costsrent, staff, utilities and charging, marketing, insurance, maintenance and spare parts
Monthly profitmonthly revenue − monthly running costs
Payback period (months)equipment and set-up cost ÷ monthly profit

The levers that move the result are utilisation (how full your games are), the average bill and how much equipment sits out of play. Read laser tag business profitability, extras that raise your average bill, how much a kit costs when it is out of play and what eats up an arena’s profits after launch.

Frequently asked questions

How much does laser tag equipment cost?

It depends on how many players you equip, the electronics generation and the devices you add. The table in this guide shows the live starting price of each complete set, and every set page lists the price for each generation. Single taggers, sensors and devices have their own prices in the shop, and a quote adds shipping to your country.

What affects the price of a laser tag set?

Four things: the number of players, the electronics generation, the tagger models and the game devices. A 9th generation set costs less than the same set in the 10th or 11th generation, realistic and specialist taggers cost more than standard ones, and devices such as digital flags or a nuclear case add to the total.

What other costs should I budget for besides equipment?

Rent or a land agreement, fit-out of the site or arena such as walls, lighting and obstacles, insurance, permits, staff with at least one trained instructor per game, marketing for the first months, and shipping and import duties for the equipment. We do not quote these, because they vary too much by country and city.

How do I calculate the ROI of a laser tag business?

Estimate monthly revenue as games per month multiplied by players per game and your price per player, plus extras such as parties and drinks. Subtract monthly running costs. Divide your equipment and set-up cost by that monthly profit to get the payback period in months. Use your own local prices: we do not publish revenue figures.

Is there a minimum order and can I get a quote?

Online orders need a cart subtotal of at least $105 before shipping. A quote request through our contact form has no minimum and is the best way to price a club order: our sales team replies with prices, stock, and the shipping cost and delivery time for your country before you pay anything.

How can I lower the cost of laser tag equipment over time?

Keep equipment working: we service it for its whole life and sell spare parts often at cost price, and many repairs can be done in-house with our repair videos. When you want new features, our trade-in programme upgrades older sets for several times less than buying new ones, and all our software and firmware are free.
